Relationships and Sex Education (RSE)

In June 2019 the DfE released statutory guidance for the curriculum for Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education to be implemented in September 2020.  This guidance replaced the DfE Sex and Relationships Education Guidance from 2000.

The new guidance states that all primary school must deliver education about Relationships and Health and it recommends that all primary schools deliver a Sex education curriculum, although this is not compulsory (apart from aspects of the science curriculum).
